    The Mets Are Nuts

The Mets are close to signing left-hander Scott Schoeneweis to a three-year deal, ESPN.com reports.
Three years? It's been two months now and there was no hint that any team had offered him a multiyear deal of any kind. Schoeneweis would been a nice one-year signing for an NL team, but this is a reach, especially considering that the Mets already have Pedro Feliciano. Also, Royce Ring was shaping up as a pretty good specialist before the team moved him for a fifth outfielder last month.
No way would I give this guy 3 yrs. Can't wait to see for how much!

I love the sweet sound of a supplemental draft pick.

the best part, for the A's, may be that this is a sign of the Mets willing to move another pitcher like Heilman along with Milledge for Blanton...I've read that it could be a prelude to a trade.
