Cubs offer Ted Lilly 4yr deal

Agent Larry O'Brien said the Cubs have offered free agent Ted Lilly a four-year deal.
"We've had an offer [from Chicago], and we're considering coming back with another counter offer," O'Brien told MLB.com on Friday. "I'm planning on meeting with [Cubs general manager] Jim Hendry down at the winter meetings in Orlando next week, but we're also going to be meeting with [Toronto general manager] J.P. Ricciardi." O'Brien also intends to discuss Lilly with the Yankees, Orioles, Rangers and Giants.

"For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Of course, they say every atom in our bodies was once part of a star. Maybe I'm not leaving... maybe I'm going home."

Please do so Cubs so you can see what we've had to put up with from Homer Milton the past 2 yrs.

IMO he's not a very good fit in that small ballpark. Are the Cubs going Daniel Snyderbrenner on everybody?

Lilly needed out of Toronto. He was not in a good situation there, much of it was his doing, but......

I just like the fact that he is not a Brewer. He is too inconsistent for me, and the Brewers have too many pitchers like that already! Glad he is a Cub

Looks like they are giving up on Schmidt. Mariners might have the edge now.

Although rumor has the left-hander already on his way to the Cubs, agent Larry O'Brien told ESPN.com that he still plans to discuss Ted Lilly with the Giants, Yankees, Blue Jays and Mariners on Tuesday.
The Cubs have made a four-year offer, but Lilly has yet to accept it. "We're beyond the preliminary stage [with the Cubs], but our discussions are ongoing," O'Brien said.
Hate to say it but the Giants need help, even if it is Lilly.

Hillenbrand, now Molina, so why not Lilly?

I wish we would have resigned Hillenbrand. Instead we have Aurilia at first and cocksmith at third.
