Giants Ray Durham remains with Giants

According to the San Jose Mercury News, free agent Ray Durham will remain with the Giants.
Durham thought he'd get a nice two-year deal elsewhere, but it didn't look like it was going to materialize with teams like the Padres, Blue Jays and Cardinals all seeking cheaper solutions at second base. The Giants are probably out of the mix for Mark Loretta now, something that will cause the Red Sox pause as they decide whether to offer him arbitration. Kevin Frandsen will probably have to be content with a utility role initially.

I can't say I am disappointed or happy with this decision. Depends on how much he makes really. He was the Giants best hitter last year and stayed healthy for the most part. He is the same age as Loretta so they aren't getting any older or younger. Frandsen will be there if/when Durham goes down. One less hole the Giants need to worry about.

Does this mean no happy reunion of Rich Aurilia and San Francisco?

Aurilia is likely to play either third or first. Let's hope third because I want no part of Feliz. Loretta is not in the picture anymore though.

Ray Durham will get a two-year deal worth $14 million-$15 million to remain with the Giants.
There didn't seem to be anyone else interested in going two years with him, so Durham did pretty well here.

I would say yes he did pretty well for himself there! I don't think he is worth that much though. Too much injury risks for me. Should have been an incentive laden contract!
