Cardinals on the verge of signing Adam Kennedy

Adam Kennedy, David Eckstein and Jim Edmonds up the middle? It's the Anaheim Angels all over again!

The Cardinals are close to signing Adam Kennedy to a three-year deal worth about $10 million, according to FOXSports.com.
That'd be a very good deal. It had looked like Kennedy would get about $15 million for three years. He's not going to be blocking anyone in St. Louis, so the lengthy contract isn't a problem. The team could use a right-handed hitter to platoon with him, and Aaron Miles isn't a great option.

Maybe now with the great table-setter David Eckstein, and the great clutch playoff hero Adam Kennedy, they'll win consecutive World Series!

I do like this signing, though, but only if they do actually pull out the platoon.

Miles should be used less often as Kennedy is a far more superior defensive second baseman.
Wells will try and fight for a rotation spot as the Cards are far from done signing starters.

EDIT: I didn't realize Wells was going to make $4 mil. The Cards are still not done but good grief.
