Matt Stairs claimed off waivers by the Tigers

Apparently having had Chris Shelton, Dmitri Young and Sean Casey was not enough, so they had to bring in Stairs.

He's not eligible for the postseason, is he?

He is not, but honestly? Stairs, as the best 1B as voted as this website, will be able to violate the rules and be World Series MVP if they let him play

I guess the Rangers realized Stairs wasn't going to take them to the promised land. What a surprise.

They should have tried him in the rotation.

With a player on the DL, Matt Stairs could be put onto the playoff roster, if management wishes.

Expos, Red Sox, A's, Cubs, Brewers, Pirates, Royals, Tigers, Rangers

One more team and Stairs is at 10.

Last I knew, Mike Morgan had the record.

Athletics, Yankees, Blue Jays, Mariners, Orioles, Dodgers, Cubs, Cardinals, Reds, Twins, Rangers, and Diamondbacks. That's 12 teams.

Of note, until 2004, there was a Curse of Matt Stairs, where any team he had played for (and subsequently been unappreciated at) could not win, or make it to, a WS since Stairs played in the majors.

That curse might return to form if Detroit doesn't be careful.
