    Rangers Oswalt Rumors

Right now these are some of the rumors for Oswalt going around.

Mets are willing to give deal Milledge and another prospect.

Rangers are willing to give up Danks & Blalock to acquire Oswalt and are still in 3 way talks. Trade for Tejada then trade for Oswalt.

Possibly what could happen is. Nieve & Danks go to Orioles, Oswalt to the Rangers, and Tejada to the Astros.

Tejada talks have died down with other teams.

I would be all for trading Blalock if we could get Oswalt, but I haven't heard anything that would make me want to trade him for anybody else, including Tejada.

    Evan Grant of DMN:

"Rangers give up: Hank Blalock, John Danks, Edinson Volquez, Vicente Padilla and Joaquin Benoit.

Orioles give up: Miguel Tejada, Melvin Mora, Rodrigo Lopez.

Astros give up: Roy Oswalt, Brad Lidge, Adam Everett, Hunter Pence. ....

    And now for the reshuffling:

Baltimore ends up: Blalock, Everett, Danks, Volquez and Pence. Two established big leaguer and three extremely promising minor leaguers.

Houston ends up: Tejada, Padilla and Benoit. Astros get the bat they need, have a quality fill in starter for Oswalt and get a tantalizing arm for pen.

Texas gets: Oswalt, Mora, Lidge, Lopez. Lopez replaces Padilla and Oswalt goes to the front of the Rangers rotation. Mora, who is signed for three more years, gives the Rangers a third baseman and one who can be something of a spark plug, and the Rangers get Lidge, who may be able to rediscover his dominant self outside of Houston."

The Astros are completely retarded if they give up Oswalt in any deal. Pettite has been terrible, and Clemens + Backe isn't going to be leading this team to the playoffs.

Another deal I would be heavily against. Rangers give up an all-star 3B man, their ace this year, and 2 future aces in Danks and Volquez while getting an okay hitter in Mora, a bum in Lopez, and a pitcher who is going from one hitters park to another. Okay, they do get a very good pitcher in Oswalt, but are sacrificing their future in the process giving up Blalock and 2 potential aces.

I like last year's trade deadline because nothing happened.
I hate this one because of all the rumors flying around of deals that I hate. lol
