I can say one thing, Jim Bowden saved his job with this trade.

Probably not - reports indicate that the new owners still want to install their own hand-picked GM, they just don't want to shuffle the team up mid-season.

Let's hope that's true. Or that Bowden rapes the Reds another time or two before then.

Jim Edmonds for Kent Bottenfield and Adam Kennedy is still one of my favorites.

I was wondering what the reds nation on here felt about that deal yesterday. Sorry I missed the fun.

    Revenge of the Bowden?

Ryan Vogelsong and Armando Rios for Jason Schmidt (and John Vander Wal) was a pretty good trade as well....for both the Giants and Padres

Joe Nathan, Liriano and Boof Bonzer for A.j. Pierzynski will go down as one of the worst too.

The Pirates are still douchebags for giving Schmidt to the Giants but that trade cancels out my negative feelings for Sabean. Knock on wood that Sabean's former right hand man Ned Colletti does not make a trade where he draws the short end similar to the one for A.J. Pierzynski.
