    Rumor: Soriano to Yanks

According to ESPN Insider, the deal would include, more than likely, the Yankees only real prize prospect Phillip Hughes.

My question is: If Soriano doesn't want to play the outfield, then does that mean that Robinson Cano gets moved?

Soriano would play the outfield for the Yankees. I have no doubt.

also I would cream if this deal happened, I love Hughes.

I bet they could get more from a better farm system, if they were to wait.

The only interested suitors so far are the Mets, the Yankees, and the Cardinals.

The only better they could feasibly get is Reyes or Pelfrey, and it's arguable as to whether one of them (and whoever else would be in the deal) is more than a Hughes-centered package. At the least it's all close.

Anaheim has no interest? Do they think their prospects and other globs of goo will start hitting around Vlad?

Usually the only teams interested in adding a big bat with an expiring contract are not in last place in their division, which is why I imagine they have not shown any interest.

They won't finish behind Texas and Seattle.. they'll go on a run and then they'll be looking.

I don't think there's any way we deal Hughes for a bat. If we do we are stupid, Sori is NOT worth our top chip.
