    Ripping Streaming Files

    AKA Ripping MLB.COM for FREE

i'll try and make this as easy as possible as it is my first tutorial.

1.Go to THIS site and download SDP.
2.Extract it, run the setup.exe, install it.
3.Open the program and leave it minimized, we'll come back to it.
4.Now comes the tricky part. Now that the season is over, most, if not all, MLB teams will have an archive page providing you with ALL of the seasons highlights and top plays. Go to that page. For example, i'll use the biased reds top plays.
5.Click on any top play and open it.
6.The window SHOULD look something like THIS
7.See those red arrows? Don't worry, those i put in...Right click on your highlight reel where those red arrows are, then goto View Source. (if you are using firefox, then it is Right Click>This Frame>View Source)
8.Now you've got all these letters...What do they mean?? Well you're only looking for one specific thing, so ignore everything else. Do Ctrl-F (or Edit>find) and type 'iframe' (w/o quotes) in the field. Then press enter three (3) times to where it'll highlight this.
9.Now the really tricky part. You see where it says src="blabhablbak and goes on for miles?? I want you to copy everything AFTER the src=" and before the " name. it seems like the LONGEST URL EVA and your english teacher would KILL YOU if you used it for MLA format, but ya you want that URL. Highlight it. Copy it.
10.Now we have PART of the url. Go to your Internet Explorer or Firefox's address bar. You see where it says, for example, http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASAp...e.jsp?c_id=cin... Well DELETE everything AFTER the .com...so the following in red should be deleted.

    http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/multimedia/tp_archive.jsp?c_id=cin
11.Got it? Good. Ok now take that LONG ASS URL and PASTE it AFTER the .com, so it should be in the green area below.

    http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/long ass url

12.Press Enter. You should get a black box on the top left of your screen. Good. COPY THAT URL IN THE ADDRESS BAR.
13.Remember the SDP aplication? maximize it.
    14.Click on the 'OPEN' button
15.Place that long ass URL in the given field like so
    16.Click ok
17.Now its gunna ask you something like this click NO.
18.So you clicked NO i hope, and now it says something like this. CONGRATULATIONS, YOU BROKED IT! (no i'm KIDDING, KIDDING GUYS) Click the red 'GO' button that is next to the green 'OPEN' button. Then click SAVE (you can name it whatever, i don't care, just click save ffs)
19.Now that you've clicked SAVE, all these words should be appearing LOL WORDS. let it do its thing.
20.All things hopeful, after its done, it should pop up a player showing you your newly ripped highlight reel. Your media will be in your MY DOCUMENTS folder.
21.HOPEFULLY this worked. IF not, just post a question and i'll do my best to help out.

enjoy your newly found MLB highlight!

Ghetto, you need to piece together into one huge file every single diving play, every over the wall catch, every incredible double play turned, etc. from this year.

Actually, I'll just do that myself out of Jim Edmonds, Orlando Hudson and Vernon Wells highlights.

yeah you guys compile a list of about maybe 3-5 from each team or something and get a playlist for songs n such and i will put together an avi file at the end of the season (cause i'm sure i could use stuff from the playoffs and WS and such)

I hate when people put songs in the background for highlight videos. Can't you just leave the commentator in there? Hearing a broadcaster go nuts is part of what makes a great play great.

Broadcaster: "OH MY GOD DID HE MAKE THE PLAY WHAT A CATCH ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!??!?!?!! "

theres an option to where you can have both the song and the comentator going, you don't have to take that out...cause i agree thats what makes it.

its kinda like the TWIB highlights

HEY GHETTO... check out this highlight reel that I just pieced together. So far, I've only done the Cards and Blue Jays, still got 28 more teams to go, lol. Once I get highlights for all 30 teams, I anticipate the highlight reel will be about an hour long, heh.

dirty, i advise you to watch your formats and your file sizes...if you don't compress them right it will end up being 6 gigs...
