Jokes aside, it's not even really the Kings that I hate. They're a good team and I wouldn't deny that. It's the fawning announcers and the NHL officiating that has ignored calls against them for at least the last 3 series they've been involved in. "Tenacious, this. Doughty, that. Quick and Kopitar, something else. Oh, look at what they just did there!" (For what it's worth, I'm not particularly fond of announcers calling Kane "Showtime" and he plays for the team I love.) I had a non hockey fan friend watching one of the Hawks v Kings games with me and he asked me, in all seriousness, "Are these LA announcers calling the game?". It's like they're the media darlings, there's a script that calls for them to win the Cup, and the officials are doing their damnedest to fulfill that script.
And go get that mole removed, will you Robert?

Seriously, though, I know there's not really a conspiracy on behalf of the Kings (I sure hope not), but I can relate to feeling that the Giants run was scripted. I've seen it in other sports when it involved teams I didn't even care about. And to be fair, there was a feeling of destiny when the Hawks won the Cup last year and they were probably the media darlings at that time. It happens.
cy, rangers got away with one that i remember, stepans stick got up and hit richards in the 2nd i believe, to a no call. the kings had at least 5. 3 non called minors, the delay of game for lifting the puck into the netting, in overtime, that one person on the planet saw hit the glass, he just happened to be a linesman. and of course the no call interference. and mofo, youre right, reggie stuck his hip out almost 40 years ago, and maier created a homer almost 20 ago. when scrutiny in sports wasnt anywhere near what it is today, and when technology in sports was nonexistent
