With the 101st overall pick in the 2014 GML Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select:

John Urschel, OG, Penn State



The Jacksonville Jaguars are happy to select the smartest player in this draft, by far. The Jaguars understand that being smart and being able to physically play the sport of football are two different things, but Urschel is a different kind of smart. Here's a tidbit from ESPN:

"Excellent overall makeup. Accountable and elected as a team captain in 2013. Graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average in mathematics in May 2012 in, less than three years. Immediately began working on a master's degree in math and graduated in May 2013 with a 4.0 GPA. Urschel has begun working on a master's in math education, with the plan of earning a Ph.D. Recipient of the 2013 William V. Campbell Trophy for the nation's premiere scholar-athlete."

With the 106th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select:
Arthur Lynch, Tight End, Georgia

The New York Giants are pleased to welcome Arthur Lynch to our organization. Although this is later than we thought we would target a Tight End, we are still glad to be able to add a talented young man like Arthur. We are very excited about his potential with this organization and everyone believes that he has the necessary skill sets to compete for the starting job on day one. This young man has excellent size that will be a great advantage when receiving and blocking. Arthur has been fortunate enough to be able to acquaint himself with an NFL-caliber route tree while playing at Georgia. We expect that the playbook won't be too much for someone of his character to digest. Perhaps our favorite part about him is how great of a blocker he is. He may be the best blocker at TE in this draft, with fantastic ability to seal blocks and play with a nasty temperament. Everyone at the Giants hopes that Arthur Lynch can be a long term starter at TE and a new security blanket for Eli Manning.
