My team from 12 team 5x5 league.

Players by position and round taken

    C - Mauer (6)
    1B - Huff (8), Morneau (14), Kotchman (21)
    2B - Ellis (16)
    SS - Crosby (15)
    3B - Blalock (4)
    OF - Burrell (7), Holliday (9), Giles (10), Pena (19), Delmon Young (20)
    SP - Peavy (1), Pedro (2), Willis (3), Harden (5)
    RP - Jenks (11), Valverde (12), Ray (13), Orvella (17), Mike Gonzalez (18)

Weak on steals... heavy in potential with Pena, Morneau, Young, Kotchman... Starting pitching is second to none... Saves should be covered with 5 closers

I take it that pitchers rack up a great deal of points.

Better hope that Willis doesn't pitch like he did in the WBC.

Well.. it is roto (I don't like head to head in baseball)

I should pretty much OWN all 5 of the pitching categories... and the plan is not to lose any of the 5 offensive categories... if I am average/middle-of-the-road in the offensive cats, and rock in the pitching cats, I should be in great shape

I like that strategy i try the same in my leagues and it usually works. Only problem is your closers aren't that reliable.

nope... but I also did not have to worry about it.... 5 closers who may get 20 saves apiece on average, is better than 3 30 save guys... all are unproven, but it fits the strategy...keep 5 RP's in at all times (2 rp slots and 3 p slots), and rotate the 4 starters thru the 2 SP slots according to who is pitching which day

It's a nice plan, but your offense is probably gonna end up dead last in steals and homeruns, and towards the bottom in RBIs and runs.

Well... just dropped Young, as he was AAA optioned... and ended up getting Rickie Weeks at SS... also added Adam LaRoche, while dropping Willy Mo (wo is not lookingtoo good right now)

I have good power in Morneau, Blalock, Burrell, Holliday.... I have fair power in a few of the others.... I doubt I come in dead last in either HR or SB... I have some non-specialists who get boh.... I'll monitor and ajdust as I see things go on though

I actually like Huff... and 1B was getting RAPED.... hell, even Thome was gone... it was either him, Giambi, or Morneau... I did not want Giambi, and I knew I could get Morneau later.... I was confident I could gain all the RP I wanted later, as well as the OF's I wanted.... but I felt I had to grab a more assured production at 1B then, and then take the risks in Morneau et al later
