Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
If I follow his reasoning as well as I think I do he probably wouldn't grab Manning unless he was somehow still there in round 8 or 9.
Might be a slight exaggeration there but I get the impression he definitely wouldn't burn a 2nd rounder on him either.
If he'd grab, say, Drew Brees in round 1 that contradicts your reasoning but not his.

I wouldn't wait that long. Manning in the 2nd (unless I drafted someone like Rodgers late in Rd 1) would be awfully tempting because of the stats Manning has put up in recent years. I just wouldn't use a first because like Witlon said you can get very productive QB later.
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
im a big believer in grabbing a qb i feel strongly about early. brees in the 2nd is usually a target, this year maybe cam in the late 3rd early 4th if i cant procure something earlier. i dont think ive ever taken a qb in the 1st in a non ppc league though.

In yesterdays mock(ESPN), QBs came off the board like this:
1-4: P. Manning
2-14: A. Rodgers
2-24: D. Brees
4-42: M. Stafford
4-47: C. Newton
5-53: A. Luck
5-58: N. Foles
7-79: R. Griffin III
7-80: R. Wilson
7-84: M. Ryan
8-88: C. Kaepernick
8-94: T. Brady
9-100: P. Rivers
9-102: T. Romo
Why grab Manning in the first, when you could legitimately double up with say, Romo and Ryan?
Wow Brady in the 8th... as much as I hate New England... I gotta say that would be very tough to pass on. Bolded are the guys I'd really be looking at if that were the league I was in. It also depends on the scoring system.
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
edited wrs and added tes. ill try to get ks and ds up by the end of the day just to have prelim lists
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
Started a new thread for the consensus rankings. All talk goes here to keep the thread from clogging.
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
Outside the top 5 consensus RB there isn't anyone I am remotely excited about. Can't see myself spending a first round pick on bell, ball, or Murray.
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
kickers and defenses up... ill edit periodically and let you know when i do. but at least you can have prelim lists up.

since i assume we're gonna be running a league on here, im not gonna go too deep into my plans. i will say this though... i couldnt see myself taking the 6th rb [or possibly even lacy] over calvin if im picking middle of the 1st round. im a bit higher on le'veon than you... but if im back end of the 1st round, 10-12th or so, i wouldnt be upset getting jimmy graham and a secondary runner in the 2nd.
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
I think I'd consider taking Graham before RB5 in PPR formats. Consider...
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
From today's Mock, we look at TEs...(ESPN Standard, non PPR.)
12. J. Graham
32. J. Thomas
45. R. Gronkowski
56. V. Davis
62. J. Witten
79. J. Cameron
94. K. Rudolph
105. G. Olsen
121. J. Reed
130. Z. Ertz
163. A. Gates
165. C. Clay
167. M. Bennett
All others were undrafted. I guess waiting on TE can be considered. I have Cameron ahead of Gronk(due to the Gordon suspension), and getting him in the 80s or Rudolph in the 90s(The Turner effect) would work for me.
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
tight end is usually a position i wait on. reed or ertz that late would be glorious for me.
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
wait... just noticed dennis pitta went undrafted. that would be even more glorious for me.
Re: Random Fantasy Football 2014 Rumblings
Nah, he was drafted. I had to have missed him, because I would've taken him over Manziel or Kelvin Benjamin.
