Re: Who would you like to see provide realmofotalk-esque commentary on their team?
I hope you're right Leo, but I know better than to expect any of my teams to win. The Jets are talented, but can be inconsistent, and Mark Sanchez still has a ways to go in terms of being a real good NFL QB.
Also, the Mets have only made the playoffs 3 times since I've been alive. Once we got eliminated on an extra innings bases loaded walk to our biggest rival. We got back the next year, only to get dominated in the World Series by our crosstown rival (furthering the little brother complex). Then, 5 years of mediocrity (at best), and when we finally have a year where we're the best team in the NL (if not MLB), we lose a heartbreaker to the worst team to ever make an MLB playoffs. Then the 2 years of chokes (the latter resulting in the biggest rival winning a WS). Then two years of failure (the former resulting in the same crosstown rival winning another WS). It's been a bad couple decades to be a Mets fan.
Not to slight the pains of being a Padres fan, but being a Mets fan is shit.
Re: Who would you like to see provide realmofotalk-esque commentary on their team?
The Mariners haven't made the playoffs since Paul Abbott was an effective pitcher and Joel Pineiro was actually considered good.
Re: Who would you like to see provide realmofotalk-esque commentary on their team?
The Padres got swept in humuliating fashion the one time they've made the World Series since I've been a fan.
The only other two times they've played in the playoffs they got *****slapped by the Cardinals and sent home in round 1.
I'd say my experience watching my team in the playoffs is on par with yours.

I'll agree with that, but the choke jobs in 2007 and 2008 (in my mind at least) are about as brutal as any baseball fan has dealt with this decade.

I call being consistent. If I'm not going to kiss my team's ass, I sure as **** won't be praising yours. Other than that, I won't make excuses like "It's okay, every other team in the division screwed up, too!"

Try watching your baseball team win 116 games and watch Aaron Sele singlehandedly get *****slapped by the Yankees. Oh yeah and Soriano's HR off of Sasaki still ****ing stings.

I saw my team stay in 1st place practically all year only to drop it near the end of the season by losing 12 games or so in a row, which was a record for first place teams.

I see Soriano's HR and raise you Matt Stairs' home run off Broxton. Think I took any shit for that in this Godforsaken forum?

I take pride in knowing my team allowed a trainer named Brian to meet a pitcher named Roger.
Or something along those lines.
