Roster I need a starting pitcher

Who would you rather get off free agency between the following bums:

    Mike Hampton (11 IP, 1 W, 13 K, 2.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP)
    Tim Wakefield (15 IP, 1 W, 8 K, 3.00 ERA, 1.13 WHIP)
    Doug Davis (21 IP, 1 W, 15 K, 2.57 ERA, 1.19 WHIP)
    Jason Marquis (14 IP, 2 W, 5 K, 1.93 ERA, 1.00 WHIP)

There are also other bums such as Nick Blackburn, Dustin Moseley, Big Fat Sidney Ponson, Brandon McCarthy, Jamie Moyer, Daniel Cabrera, Kevin Correia, etc. but I'm not really considering them because they're garbage.

If you had to choose from that list choose Wake, but I'd also see if Zimmerman is available in your league, if he is pick him up, he'll be really good for the gnats

Zimmerman is not available. Appreciate your opinion.

Doug Davis. Luck of the Dbags. But I wouldn't mind you holding onto your word that Sidney Ponson is a sleeper.

Wakefield is good for innings and CGs if anything, plus he has a good offense behind him.

Excellent points. Davis gets a lot of strikeouts, while Wakefield keeps the WHIP ratio much lower. He does pitch in the much tougher division, while Davis and Hampton are supposed to face easier opponents. Hmm...

Hampton will get strikeouts too, but walk a lot. Davis is the same. But he beat cancer, so he might have one of those invincible streaks like Lowell has had in the past!

****, that's a good point. Davis could go all Lance Armstrong or Jon Lester on us. The cancer factor is huge.

Also, did you list Daniel Cabrera as mere pity towards the nationals? HAHAHA

Out of those available, I'd take Doug Davis... not because he beat cancer, but he's the best pitcher there. Wakefield might have more wins at season's end, but I figure unless Davis' cancer knocks him out again he'll put up better stats...

McCarthy could be interesting too, but I don't really know what he's even doing now. Is he healthy even? He probably has the most upside out of anyone listed there.. and with Texas' offense, if he can just figure it out slightly he could win 15 games probably.
