How do I get Brandon Webb?

I'm in a keeper league that allows just 6 keepers following the season. I would like to stack up on ace pitchers, so naturally, I'd want the best NL pitcher, Brandon Webb. The problem is, the person who owns him is in 1st place and I'm in 7th. I tried Soriano and Francis for Webb and Crawford the first time, then Freddy Sanchez (whom I won't keep and he has Marcus Giles at 2b) and Coors Field anamoly Jeff Francis straight up for Webb. He won't budge. Is he right for being a prick because he wants to win now or have I not offered enough?

Among my keeper pool are Mauer, Soriano, A. Rod, Carlos Lee, Oswalt, Verlander, and Jeff Francis.

Meh, I wouldn't do either of those deals. Webb's really damn good and I'd require more than Francis (who may or may not be THAT great, certainly not as good as Webb unless something happens) and Soriano, or Sanchez and Soriano. Forget Crawford.

I'd figure that you have to risk dealing a Lee+ to get him

I could trade Lee but he'd most likely want one of my SPs to replace Webb, too.

Try lee and francis or whatever for webb and crawford or whatever, maybe?

Ha, like Fisher said, if he wouldn't bite on Soriano (30-30 man) and Francis, then I doubt replacing Soriano with Lee would change his mind.

Arlington can be attractive to people. ...have you asked what maybe he would want for Webb?
