After giving up a leadoff homer to Grady Sizemore in the ninth inning on Tuesday, Ambiorix Burgos lost his closer job for the Royals. It was the third straight blown save for Burgos, who has been the closer in place of the injured Mike MacDougal. "We've got options," manager Buddy Bell told the Kansas City Star. "But I don't know who it's going to be. If it wasn't for Elmer (Dessens), we wouldn't have been in a save situation. It could be (Mike Wood) or a committee. I don't know. But I'm going to do something."

As if the Royals didn't have enough problems winning games, their closer had to come out and blow three straight possible victories. Burgos likely won't be sent down to Triple-A, but it will be a while before you see him in the ninth inning with the Royals leading for a while.
