Wouldn't you think Baker would have been there at 4 if the Browns took Barkley at number 1?

That would have been my move.

Lots of smoke that New York Jets really liked Mayfield. If you like one of these QBs you don't get cute and screw it up. If I had been Cleveland I would have at least had conversations with the Giants about swapping 4 and 2 but they were (supposedly) in love with Barkley.

Then the Browns saved the Jets and doomed themselves IMO. Now they basically have 2 T.Taylors at QB tho.
    1- Barkley
4- Mayfield, Darnold, Chubb, Rosen, CB

That would have been my draft board for them.

Darnold and Rosen are both overrated as heck. Rosen wasn't able to stay healthy at UCLA and takes WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many hits. Darnold was a turnover machine with the decision making at USC.

Winston had turnover concerns too. Still somewhat does but he beats having a lot of crap that floats in the league. Many QBs get hit a lot in college unless you play behind OLine factories in Alabama, ND, or Wisconsin.

All of these QBs had/have fairly/unfairly flaws that made this class pretty decisive. There was no clear cut guy and I suspect if you asked every legit football fan on here who they like most, you will get a diverse response. Hammer loves Allen, I probably like him the least. My biases aside, I think Rosen will be the best and he gets knocked cause he's not a football shill (and I guess has had a concussion or two like pretty much every football player). And so forth.

Which I hope we can bump this thread in the future to see how things turned out, I'm pretty fascinated overall by this QB crop cause the next tiers have plenty of intrigue in their own right.

    Re: 2018 NFL Draft

i had 4 1st round grades on qbs this year, and i think all 4 can become franchise guys under the right circumstances. allen, rosen, darnold and lamar, in that order. but this was a very divided qb group, the range of opinions on all of them was fascinating

I'm going to laugh when Josh Allen can't do it. There's no proof in any game he's ever played.

In terms of game footage there's a handful of guys still on the board that I would take over Josh Allen. People like to blame the shitty stats on his receivers yet this:

He had the least amount of drops of any of the top 6 QBs. So it's not their fault he can't complete passes.
