Jim Kelly had 35,000 yards and 237 TDs in 10 seasons. Similar numbers but Warner won a superbowl.

Because those 2 played in a more difficult period for offence. That Warner was part of a team that won a SB doesn't matter to me.

Because I don't think personal stories matter? Fame doesn't have to mean just stats or include personal stories.
Re: Pro football hall of fame class of 2015
Kurt Warner isn't Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson riding a powerful run game and debilitating defense to a ring. The Rams won the SB and the Cardinals came damn close to winning one primarially because of Kurt Warner's passing.
I'm not saying that alone should make him a Hall of Famer, but it sure as hell should count in the decision.

I was just responding to the assertion that non statistical considerations don't matter.

Completely agree. You could argue you can plug anyone in that offense and they COULD be great. But only Warner was able to win a superbowl with that team.
Warner was a big player in leading those teams. He definitely did not ride anyone's coat tails.

Well I'm not sure if you want to count his time in the AFL and NFL Europe because he had been playing "pro" football since 1994. It's like counting CFL stats for Warren Moon or Doug Flutie.

I never said he was a Dilfer or a Johnson, I just said team accomplishments don't matter to me.

In other words, I wasn't saying Kurt Warner bagging groceries is what should get him into the HOF

I didn't say you did, I was just pointing out why his team accomplishments mean more to his resume than that of Dilfer or Brad Johnson.

sure, but he also had a shit ton of weapons around him (at least 2 HOF players, with a couple more on the borderline) with an offencive mastermind as HC. And then you get into how much of it was him, how much was everything else, etc etc. Teasing apart team accomplishments becomes very tricky so it doesn't get much weight in these cases for me.
Re: Pro football hall of fame class of 2015
Priest Holmes is a HOFer.
