Murray has 7 straight 100 games. So happy to have him on my FF team.

Conversely look at SEA, GB, SF, BLT. Empirical studies bear it out. NE's still churning out pretty decent teams by and large too.
If not for the NFL and media propping them up the last decade (along with the dumpster fires that make up the AFC Least), he's probably out of the league long before now. Don't get fancy its clear we need a lot but to pass on top flight weapons for our young QB to try and hit on a bunch of hail marries is crazy.
we're not trading completely away from talent though. If we just use that top pick on someone, we still have all these holes to fill.

If you get an RG3/Eli type offer you take it but to trade down just for the sake of it you might as well just go the Al Davis route and trade everything for "established" players.
Not trade down just for the sake of it, the value would have to be there. Further more, no, those 2 are not alike at all. Al traded for old guys looking just to get paid who were winding down. These would be young potential players.

    We don't need numbers
We certainly do unless you want more Woodley, Tuck, Brown, and so on.

we need quality and NORMALLY that quality is better found early. Carr has impressed me thus far with crap at WR. Right now Cooper and White are by far the top 2 WR in the draft next year.
We need quality and quantity. Plenty of good players have been found in the later portions of round 1. It's not completely linear. We could easily wind up with multiple 1st round picks, which are far more useful than a single top pick.

If 1 is available you don't get fancy, you take them (just like Reggie did with Mack last year).
and look at our team. We can't generate any pressure, and our D is bottom of the league. One player can't make up for a bunch of crap.

and honestly, I'd get Carr a TE even before a WR. Bu then you're getting into positional value and such
