Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
I'd be highly disappointed with a 6-10 season.
With the schedule as seemingly tough as it is and the Raiders getting better I don't think it's completely out of the realm of possibilities, but I still think they'll fare better than that. (Especially if KC and Oakland are both 6-10 teams)
It really depends on how the defense fares, though.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
Well I break everything down on a week to week basis and just throw up the overall record as I do every year, but yeah I saw how difficult the schedule was and I handicapped KC because I didn't see them doing as good as they did last season, but still enough to be competitive. Frankly I don't think Tampa Bay will be as bad as I have them, yet that is going to be a tough division. Houston winning 12 games? Depends on if they get Mallett and he has a big year, or Savage just comes out of nowhere. Then again Andre Johnson could make Ryan Fitzpatrick look good for one year, and I don't think New Orleans misses the playoffs with a 10-6 year either.
It's why these early predictions are so ridiculous.

With the 11th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select
JORDAN JENKINS, LB, Georgia
http://aug-cdn.com/sites/default/fil...o/12669494.jpg
The Dallas Cowboys manage not to finish 8-8, but took two steps back and led to Jerry Jones finally saying goodbye to Jason Garrett. 6-10 is not where the Cowboys want to be, but it’s going to be a long way back to rebuilding this defense to what it was when the Big Tuna was coach.
Rumors have it that the Cowboys really wanted Ryan Shazier but had him stolen by the Steelers, this year they manage to nab an explosive player in Jordan Jenkins. He can leap running backs in a single bound, but established himself as a strong pass rusher as a true freshman collecting 8 TFL and 5 sacks. Jenkins only managed 5 sacks last season but that can be attributed to the talent around him as well, he’s got good size but isn’t nearly the tackler that Shazier was coming out of college but he will be disruptive as an OLB at the next level. Don’t forget he’s been mentioned in the same breath as Jadaveon Clowney and Stephen Tuitt, which isn’t bad company.

With the 12th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select
KEVIN HOGAN, QB, Stanford
http://media.katu.com/images/121116-...-Hogan-660.jpg
What a difference a year makes, Alex Smith caused some drama last year and Andy Reid chose to select Aaron Murray in the fifth round of the 2014 draft. However after falling down to Earth the Chiefs need to find a true savior at the pivot. Brett Hundley is there but Reid will choose to take a two time Pac-12 champion.
Yes Hundley probably has the better tools, but he has a few off games. Kevin Hogan is just a winner and has managed to keep the winning traditions alive at Stanford after the great Andrew Luck made his way to the NFL. Hogan has the size you want from a starting QB with great awareness and one of the best pocket presences. He’s got very good footwork, anticipates his receivers well and nice release. Though, I can see a certain Oregon State quarterback work his way into Andy Reid’s heart as well.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
With the 13th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select
AJ JOHNSON, LB, Tennessee
http://www.winningcureseverything.co...13/06/512x.jpg
Dismal linebacker play once again hurts the Dolphins, this time Dennis Hickey looks to clear up the problem he’s inherited from the previous GM. Hickey managed to nail a couple picks in the last draft and tries again this time by adding a linebacker that will make a difference.
AJ Johnson has some red flags but the Dolphins may be able to overlook things like purchasing alcohol for minors, or can they? Johnson might just have the talent and production to make Miami look the other way. He was an All SEC first team, and was fifth in the nation in total tackles. He’s got good straight line speed and can cause trouble going between the tackles and has solid technique.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
With the 14th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select
IFO EKPRE-OLOMU, CB, Oregon
http://fishduck.com/wp-content/uploa...omu_120923.jpg
Cornerback remains a problem for the Steelers as they have a ghost or two patrolling in the defensive backfield. Unfortunately you can’t get by with a pass happy league if your pass defense continues to get older, and it didn’t help they selected one corner in the fifth round in 2014. However they managed to bring in a defensive back that fits the Steelers perfectly including hard to pronounce name.
Ifo is a leader on defense and one of the better tacklers at corner, he has the speed to get in the backfield evident by his 5 TFL in his junior year and he managed 7 INTs between his junior and sophomore year. Something that also enticed the Steelers is the ability that Ekpre-Olomu has to help against the run.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
With the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select
JAELEN STRONG, WR, Arizona State
http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/J...BwKueZ_cgl.jpg
The Jets signed Eric Decker and drafted a few receivers on day 3 of the 2014 draft but Decker isn’t a true number one and works better as a compliment when teams have to worry about other weapons and Kerley works best in the slot. They missed out on Marquise Lee in the second but don’t waste a second thinking about any other positions here. They immediately add a receiver with some size and a great deal of upside.
In 2013 Jaelen Strong caught 75 catches for 1,100 yards. Strong is a big receiver with large hands and catch radius, he’s not a burner but has good speed with a 40 time of 4.6, he can create separation with his size but won’t completely outrun quicker corners. He’s only played two seasons at the division I level but has proved to be a quick study and could make just as quick jump to the pros.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
With the 16th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the St Louis Rams select
BRETT HUNDLEY, QB, UCLA
http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/cb08...fornia-001.jpg
The Sam Bradford era in St Louis is pretty much over. The Rams have a lot of talent on their team but still lack a true number one receiver, unfortunately the man who gets them the balls is a higher priority now that the position is vacant.
Brett Hundley was evaluated as being neck and neck with Marcus Mariota but has his up and downs, he’s got the tools to make him a cornerstone of a franchise. If UCLA was without Hundley they might not thrive as well under coach Mora. He’s elusive with a strong arm that can get the ball out all over the field, he’s all accurate with his ball. A tall, well put together QB that can run and has a rare elusiveness that he can use to get away from pressure. Hundley definitely has the potential to be a annual Pro Bowler.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
With the 17th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select
ANDRUS PEAT, OT, Stanford
http://www.rantsports.com/ncaa-footb...ndrus-Peat.jpg
Still in desperate need for an anchor on the left side the Panthers finally look to rebuild their offensive line after Gross retired. They added a guard in the 2014 draft but other than Ryan Khalil at center there isn’t a true Pro Bowl level talent on the line.
Andrus Peat comes to the pros with NFL blood lines and great size, he is a mountain of man at 6’7 and 300 pounds. Peat is a hard worker that is explosive and quick, he has a lot of natural ability and could be a special player. Someone you can plug in from day one.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
With the 18th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select
TRE JACKSON, OG, Florida State
http://binaryapi.ap.org/43da4bbaa530...b0971/940x.jpg
Justin Pugh may be ready to be moved out to tackle and the Giants could look to upgrade from Geoff Schwartz, because Eli Manning still needs more time in the pocket. The Giants could very well keep Pugh inside and look to add one of the elite tackle prospects still available here.
Instead of a Cameron Irving, the Giants elect to go with Irving’s big, thick and athletic teammate Tre Jackson who helped anchor the left side of the line for the Seminoles. Another explosive lineman who uses his hands very well and sends a jolt to defenders. His explosiveness is very apparent when you watch game tape and see him shoot up when the ball is snapped. A very powerful run blocker who is just as adept at pass protection.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
With the 19th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select
MICHAEL BENNETT, DT, Ohio State
http://www.elevenwarriors.com/sites/.../bennett_0.jpg
The Cardinals look to add more depth to the defensive line even after drafting Kareem Martin and Ed Stinson on the second and third day respectively. Arizona adds a player with a little more polish by nabbing Michael Bennett out of Ohio State.
Michael Bennett will be yet another in a line of NFL players named Michael Bennett, though he isn’t nearly the disruptive force the Seahawks version is, this Bennett could develop into the same impact player. He has a good work ethic and size to play inside or out and is quicker because of his slimmer frame, projects to be more of a 3-4 DE.
Re: Schisno's Annual Ridiculously Early Prediction and Mock Draft
With the 20th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints select
MARKUS GOLDEN, LB, Missouri
http://www.themaneater.com/media/201...75x525_q85.jpg
The Saints have put together a solid defense under Rob Ryan but could still use a special edge rusher. Of course they can use another cornerback to ease the transition from Champ Bailey, but once again there are options in later rounds, instead we see yet another Missouri rusher as in previous drafts.
Markus Golden was overshadowed by former teammates Michael Sam and Kony Ealy on one of the SEC’s best defensive line, yet Golden still managed to accumulate 6.5 sacks in 2013. Golden was able to step up and continue the current tradition of sending edge rushers to the NFL.
