Re: 2011 NFL Season rumblings thread

Kevin Acee has to be the biggest homer reporter in the league. He was on the Stephen A. Smith show a week ago going off on the nonsense that we can throw out the fact that they had the worst special teams in the history of the NFL last year based on the baseless assumption that it won't happen again.

yeah, it's not liked they changed the special teams coach and added new special teams personnel are anything.

Oh I see, you're blaming the old special teams coach who had been with the team for nine years, as if he became stupid all of a sudden last year.

I'm not blaming any one specific person. He wasn't the only person changed out.

You said Acee had no basis, I provided you a basis.

It's still without basis. How do you know the special teams won't suck just as much under the new coach? You're the same one who thought Ted Cottrell was a good hire because "he was good in Buffalo."

How do you know they will? But considering the unprecedented nature of last year's foul ups I'd say the odds are in our favor.

As for Cotrell, I never said he was good because he "was in Buffalo" that's just one of the many twisted contortions of my posts that you love to pretend I said. Kinda like how I allegedly insisted that Buster Davis is better than Bowe.

Because now it does have precedence.

You were not misquoted on the subject of Cottrell. You did offer a vote of confidence in his hiring, saying "he was good in Buffalo."

    An oldie but goodie:
The best trash talkers in sports, from Muhammad Ali to Joe Namath to the Fab Five to Deion Sanders, have always had two qualities:

    1. They’re funny.
    2. They can back it up on the field.

By those two standards, it appears that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson may be developing into a great trash talker.

This week he was asked to name the toughest defense he had faced, and he answered, the San Diego Chargers. And then he added, “That was a joke.”

Peterson, of course, ran for an NFL record 296 yards against the Chargers, and he drew a laugh with that comment.

Is it sad that when I saw that happen, I thought of what Mofo's response will be?

But don't hold your breath for a response from Leo if they don't come back in this game.

Puto Chargers. Fuck it, let them still believe that Norv Turner is taking them to the Promised Land.

I prefer to say they'll go to the promised land despite Norval's efforts.
