Nook Logan, who played centerfield for the Tigers much of last season, will not be on their Opening Day roster this season.

The Tigers announced Wednesday that they had assigned Logan to the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens.

The Tigers also sent to Toledo righthander Mark Woodyard and infielder Don Kelly and to the minor-league camp lefthander Hector Mercado, infielder Mike Hessman and outfielder Alexis Gomez.

The Tigers have 29 players remaining in the major league camp.

Can't say I'm surprised. Granderson won the CF spot. Logan will get more ABs in Toledo then he would have in Detroit, and maybe he'll grow as a player. If Logan became more of a offensive threat, he'd probably be starting now. I'm definitely excited about Granderson though.
