    Tigers Verlander named 5th starter

Tigers manager Jim Leyland has named Justin Verlander his fifth starter.
Jason Grilli and Roman Colon are now competing for bullpen spots. Verlander, who has allowed four runs in 11 2/3 innings this spring, might be baseball's best pitching prospect with Felix Hernandez no longer eligible for the title. However, he did struggle in his two starts in the majors last season and there's no way of knowing whether he's ready to throw 190-200 innings in the majors. He was done after 130 innings last year, getting shut down with shoulder soreness in August. Expect flashes of brilliance and mixed results in the end. He's a $5-$6 pitcher in non-keeper, AL-only leagues

Not bad at all. Verlander definitely deserves it with have a pretty good ST. I still say he probably would've been better off down in triple A. But it'll be exciting to see him up in the majors.

So this makes a rotation of:

    Rogers
    Bonderman
    Maroth
    Robertson
    Verlander

Not bad at all. Now this allows for Ledezma and Colon to go to the bullpen, and our pitching is looking good.
