For the small signings, releases, and other happenings that are not worthy of opening up a brand new thread.

    Reported from KFFL.

Get ready we got a lot here. Might have to break it up into a couple of posts. I won't post pad. Tigers have been busy. Here we go:

The Associated Press reports the Detroit Tigers released P Gary Knotts.
Tigers | Douglass Fails to Clear Waivers

The Associated Press reports the Cleveland Indians claimed SP Sean Douglass (Tigers) off waivers after the Tigers attempted to outright him to Triple-A.
    Tigers | Interest In Konerko
    Sat, 8 Oct 2005 22:57:58 -0700

The Chicago Tribune reports the Detroit Tigers have an interest in signing Chicago White Sox 1B Paul Konerko as a free agent, should he choose to leave the White Sox.
Konerko interest is a lil bit surprising. If Konerko comes to Detroit, you may actually see Dmitri Young leave. I remember hearing about Knotts, heard he had some potential, but I guess he just wasn't doing that decent. But overall nothing to big. But that's why this is the small offseason happenings that aren't worthy of starting a thread.

Surely going after a lot of Pirates staff.

Tigers | Interested in Pitching Coach Hernandez
    Wed, 19 Oct 2005 10:15:50 -0700

DevilRays.MLB.com's Bill Chastain reports the Detroit Tigers are expected to meet with Tampa Bay Devil Rays pitching coach Chuck Hernandez this week.
The search for pitching coach goes on, really wouldn't know how good Hernandez is when DRays really don't have a good rotation for him to coach, but I'll leave it to Leyland and Dombrowski to determine who's good and who's not.

The Detroit Free Press' John Lowe reports Detroit Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski plans on making pitching his top priority for the offseason shopping list heading into 2006.
Small happenings. It was pretty much known that Domb. was going to go after pitching. Especially when pitching was our weakest spot last season.

Jason Beck, of Tigers.MLB.com, reports the Detroit Tigers have had conversations with free agent SP A.J. Burnett's (Marlins) agent. Teams are allowed to make introductory calls, visits and talk anything but money until Friday, Nov. 11.
Been hearing this one for months. I'd love to see Tigers get a top pitcher.

Not really sure about this, but another reliever couldn't hurt.
