Abreu would be an instant upgrade over Monroe. Cause I hate that feeling I get when he comes up to bat and we need a damn hit, so the guy on 1st and 2nd can advance bases. But no, I get that shitty ass feeling in my gut, knowing that Monroe is going to suck and strikeout or have a popout.

Plus, when I look at Monroe, I just don't see the fire. He just seems empty and unhappy. Surprised he's not a little more joyful and fierce at the plate like Thames and Granderson are.

Liriano is really good. I do believe that Verlander is up there with Liriano when talking about the greatest young pitchers in the MLs right now.

Yah, Liriano looks more polished and has put up better stats. Verlander is just as good.

We're here, just kinda watching the games a bit too intently.

Liriano's wonderful as is Santana. It's starting to look like both of them just might get to watch us in the playoffs.

Maybe Verlander can send Liriano some tickets.

(Yea, I know August will be a beast but everybody said how great the Twins were lately and how they were going to knock us off our pedestal.)

I'm still standing. Even if they possibly win today, I'll take 2 out of 3.

Verlander will get some much needed rest today. Liriano is getting all the hype and I don't understand why (fully). Sure he's having a great season, but it might be easier when you're on a third place club without much to play for. (I know it's not like we've won anything but Verlander has been money for the most dominant team up to this point.)

I think Rogers might need the rest more than Verlander and I can see Rogers getting some rest once Maroth returns.

Well, Liriano missed a start due to arm problems and he didn't do well yesterday. Now they're saying he still has arm problems, so who knows how effective he'll be if he even pitches anymore...you gotta be careful with these rookies.

Can Verlander actually be in the drivers seat for the ROY?

We've lost four in a row and I can already hear the 'sky is falling' cries from some of our fans.

The sky HASN'T fallen. We're still up 6.5 games.

Verlander lost (Friday) it was bound to happen sooner or later. He'll be fine.
