Hell, he had the kind of stats to be a starter even..

...batting .323, 16 home runs, .925 OPS.. Miguel Cabrera. Yes, first base was jam packed in both leagues, and Carlos Pena was another snub but Cabrera can also play 3B and the outfield. Statistically, he's better than Michael Young and team mate Curtis Granderson. Although Young is deserving.

I don't think they needed all of the outfielders. Obviously Hamilton is a mistake by the fans, I understand his popularity, but this hasn't been a good year for him. Start Torii Hunter, keep Hamilton at home and Dye and Cabrera can be in over Granderson and Hamilton.

For example at least.

Miguel Cabrera is third in the AL in batting, 9th in hits, and 9th in OPS.

Yes Cabrera can play the outfield, but he's been playing 1B this year, so that's unfortunately where he has to be placed and stacked up against everyone else. You can't have him playing 1B all year and vote him in as an outfielder just cuz he's better than some of the regular outfielders
