    Tigers Guillen Hits DL

Tigers placed outfielder Carlos Guillen on the 15-day disabled list due to inflammation in his left shoulder.
Given his .200 average with no homers and six RBI thus far, it had become pretty evident that Guillen could benefit from some time off. With Detroit sending Clay Rapada to Triple-A, Clete Thomas and Jeff Larish have been called up to take the two available roster spots. Of those two, Larish is the better bet in AL-only leagues, but the bigger beneficiary of Guillen's absence could be Josh Anderson.
Guillen shouldn't have been in the OF anyway. He was playing out of position and this shoulder injury might be a result of it. Matt Joyce would be nice to have right about now. Maybe Guillen can recharge some batteries and become an offensive force that he usually is.

This injury is a tough one to take. When he is healthy, he is among the best run-producers in the bigs.
