    Tigers Za Return of Zumaya

Joel Zumaya (shoulder) will rejoin the Tigers on Friday, according to the Detroit News.
Zumaya pitched in consecutive minor league games this week. While he'll be back on Friday, he won't be activated until Saturday. It looks like he has his fastball back, clocking anywhere from 94-97 mph in rehab. Look for manager Jim Leyland to ease him back into the lineup initially. If he returns to the form of 2006, which is a longshot, he could take over the closer's role from Fernando Rodney.
It would be really something to see him hitting triple digits again but 97 mph ain't bad either. Let's just hope its not straight as an arrow like Kyle Farnsworth's fastball. Tigers are in first place so this could be a huge addition for them.

Anyone know how his control was in these minor league games? I know that it was all over the place in the games he did pitch in 2008.

4 IP, 3 hits, 5 K's, 0 walks. Seems like his control was there or he just scared the shit out of AAAers
