Tigers Willis Goes To The Doc

The Tigers said Monday that Dontrelle Willis will fly to Detroit to have his right knee examined by the team doctor.
It's the same knee that he hyperextended in April and caused him to go on the 15-day disabled list. He hasn't pitched since a June 29 outing for Single-A, and it's unclear just how long the knee has been bothering him.
His troubles go way beyond his knee but hopefully it isn't serious. Willis has a long way to go to get back to the ML level.

Re: Willis Goes To The Doc

An MRI exam Monday revealed that Dontrelle Willis has patella tendinitis in his right knee.
He received a cortisone injection and has been fitted for a brace. Willis is expected to return to Single-A Lakeland later this week. Whatever chance he had of rejoining the Tigers this season has likely been reduced quite a bit.
    Year one- a total waste!
