    Pudge To Hit 9th

Tigers manager Jim Leyland said that Ivan Rodriguez would open the season batting ninth behind Jacque Jones.

It's the best spot for the future Hall of Famer, though we were still guessing it'd be Jacque Jones there. The only problem with that is that leadoff man Curtis Granderson is a fellow left-handed hitter. It appears as though the only thing left for Leyland to decide is whether Gary Sheffield or Miguel Cabrera hits third. The other will bat fifth behind Magglio Ordonez. Placido Polanco will take his usual No. 2 spot, and Carlos Guillen and Edgar Renteria will hit ahead of Jones.
This should tell you just how great this lineup will be. I for one think Jones should hit 9th because he brings more speed. My lineup would be

    1. Granderson
    2. Polanco
    3. Cabrera
    4. Sheffield
    5. Ordonez
    6. Guillen
    7. Renteria
    8. Pudge
    9. Jones

Interesting choice by Letland. Let's see if he sticks with it for long.

Not too many lefties in that lineup. Especially in the heart of it.

I do like your lineup better reefer, Pudge should bat 8th.
