    Rogers Comes Back

Tigers agreed to terms on a one-year contract with LHP Kenny Rogers.
Rogers ends up returning to the Tigers after ruffling some feathers in Detroit earlier this offseason by saying that he wanting to shop around a little bit first. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it could be similar to the one-year, $10 million deal that Greg Maddux signed with the Padres given that Rogers made $8 million in 2007.
Awfully expensive for a guy who didn't do much last year and wouldn't expect much this year.

    Re: Rogers Comes Back

Under the terms of his new contract with the Tigers, Kenny Rogers can make an additional $2 million in incentives.
Rogers is guaranteed $8 million. He'll make an extra $250,000 each for 150, 160, 170 and 180 innings, and $500,000 each for 190 and 200 innings. The payment of any bonuses he earns would be deferred until 2010. It's also believed that he has a no-trade clause as part of the deal.
I think it is safe to say he won't be making the full $10 mil.
