Thread: Are the Tigers for real or not?

Are the Tigers for real or not?

I thought we could have some fun with this. I wouldn't mind seeing what other people thought. Do you think that the Tigers playing this good are for real, or are they just getting lucky, and soon they'll be back to their old ways.

There are some skeptics out there still.

Lets see what some of you have to say.

Depends on what you mean by "for real". I don't think they'll hold the best record in baseball all season (beware of August, the Tigers' schedule is killer that month), but I think they're more than capable of being a playoff team.

By "for real", I mean a playoff caliber team. A decent team if you may.

I'm not real sure if they'll hold the best record in baseball. But I do believe they'll win the AL Central. I would hope they have one of the top records in all of baseball.

Detroit is a vast improved team, but I dont think they will run away with the AL Central title. The White Sox will make a run for it in the end, just watch.

Don't get Dams hopes up. ha ha.

Even if they don't win the AL Central, they could still get the Wild card? Don't ya think?

No doubt about it. This could potentially be a 3 way battle, knowing that its a matter of time before Cleveland starts winning more games.

No need to get my hopes up. Looking at the August schedule has already done that.

I think that's what will happen, and I'm rooting for them to get the Wild Card. I'm sick of the East and West getting the Wild Card. It's time for 7 of those teams to sit at home and watch.

Cleveland winning more games? I just can't see that happening. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't their pitching been horrible?

Well, I agree. As long as the Yankees already have the AL East all tied up. I say the Tigers will be in the playoffs this year. They're good enough, IMO.

Why you say that? Leyland has done amazing things with this team.

Leyland's surprised me. I felt he was an overrated manager after he couldn't win with the Blake Street Bombers and quit after one season, leading to the overhaul of the Rockies' team makeup by then-incoming GM Dan O'Dowd.

Leyland should've never taken the Rockies job. He needed to take a break. He was pretty exhausted with the game of baseball.

    A break did him well.
