PHOENIX - Rockies reliever Dan Miceli will undergo a magnetic resonance imaging exam on his right foot Monday.
Miceli was hit by a line drive off the bat of Michael Tucker in San Francisco on Thursday, and when he woke up Friday morning the foot was swollen and sore.
Miceli limped noticeably Friday when he arrived at Bank One Ballpark.
An X-ray taken on Friday night was negative, but manager Clint Hurdle said Miceli will not be available for the weekend series against Arizona and will be examined by team doctors when the Rockies return home Monday.
"We'll re-evaluate him at that time," Hurdle said.
Miceli could add to the Rockies' staggering list of injured players. They already have seven on the disabled list, including Jason Jennings, the ace of the rotation, projected closer Chin-hui Tsao, first baseman Todd Helton and shortstop Clint Barmes.
They already have used the disabled list 18 times, including twice for Tsao. He opened the season on the disabled list because of right shoulder inflammation, then after being activated April 12, he was shut down for the season a month later. He since has undergone right shoulder surgery.
Every week it's a new injury .
