Colorado vs. San Diego - 4/6 - Game Thread

I must head to church now and this will likely be all that has been posted when I get back. However if someone does want to talk about the game this is the thread. I should be back around 9 CST.

6-1 Padres when I last checked. I'll start posting updates after the Marlins game ends.

Ryan Klesko lead off the 7th for the Padres and Simpson is the RP for the Rockies. Klesko walks to start off the 7th. Hernandez is up next and he is already up 2-0. Now 3-0. He walks on the 3-1 pitch. Simpson doesn't have much control tonight. He is going to likely get taken out pretty soon so they are stalling a bit. 8 BB tonight.

Xavier Nady is up next. Damn Simpson is WAYYY off. Just threw one WAY out in the dirt. He is also down 3-0 to Nady. He should just walk him at this point with 1st open. He didn't even do it intentionally.

I would be shocked if Simpson keeps pitching. Apears Javier Lopez will be in.

Simpson is STILL in. Green is the batter and he is already down 2-0 to him. He is looking HORRIBLE tonight. 18 pitches 15 balls so far. Now worked the count to 2-2. Green hits a little dump into right and drives in a run. I would put Lopez in now. No outs bases loaded 8-5 Padres.

2-0 on Eric Young already. Young doubles down the 3rd base line. 10-5 Padres now. Simpsons was just pathetic tonight. Horrible outing. The crowd is giving him some boos on the way out. Lopez will come in to face Burroughs.

Nice play to get Burroughs at 1st but Lopez couldn't get the throw to the catcher on time and it's 11-5 with a runner at 3rd and Loretta up .

Loretta hits a single to left to score Young. All 5 runners Simpson faced scored and he got no outs. Giles up now and he hits one right to Baker for an out. Loretta still at first.

Nevin hits a long double to the right center gap and the relay was JUST too late to get Loretta at home. 13-5 Padres now . Klesko now hits one into the OF and Nevin scores. 14-5 Padres. Klesko walked to start. I'm done with this game switching over to the Cubs game. Rockies starters need to realize they are going to have to go longer because this bullpen is VERY bad.

Wow, what an ugly game. Kind of glad I was busy with work while it was going. Walks always seem to be the killers at Coors Field, and 11 is just awful.

It's a shame, even with such a young/cheap team, the Rockies look fairly competitive, except in relief pitching (closer included), where they will probably be one of the worst teams in baseball. That'll have us 10+ games behind in the mediocre division by the all-star break for sure.

The box score shows an assist from Hawpe that looks like a double play. Anyone know how that went down? I love a right fielder with a great arm, but don't know Hawpe very well yet.

Looks like that was in the top of the 3rd. Klesko was up 1st and walked, then Hernandez "lined into" the double play. A great throw is probably least likely after a surprising catch or baserunning error by Klesko, but a fan can dream.

Where do you get archived games - a subscription to MLB.com or something?
