Rockies Rockies win on a walkoff grand slam against the Giants

Is there anything this team can't do? Besides lose that is. Wow, the Rockies are on fire (they have been obviously since early June) and now trail the struggling Dodgers by only three games. I was lucky enough to catch the game in extras last night (on the radio) and it was well worth the time.

Spilborghs, who hit the bomb in the 14th inning, had a pretty poor day of missed opportunities, including a strikeout that was pretty devasting to the Rocks.

It was the Rockies first walkoff grand slam in franchise history, showing just how special this season might be for the Rocky Mountain team.

Jason Marquis pitched a gem too. 8 IP, 1 ER, with an ERA down to 3.47. What a great late fantasy pickup.

It's fun here in Coloardo. Rockies are playing great baseball ever since Jim Tracy took over as manager! Rockies will make the playoffs. Just think they were at one point near 20 games or so out of first. Now there like 4 back of the Dodgers. Unreal turnaround.

I end up watching the Rockies more than I do the Twins...this team is awesome. Not sure what Tracy did...but holy shit.

The point is Tracy is just a bumble**** sitting on a pot of gold, just like Clint Hurdle was two years ago.

No one has done anything with Pittsburgh lately, in case you didn't notice. Which wouldn't surprise me.
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?

So how is it he turned this team around after he was named manager? The team was a bumble**** as you said, and then he comes and they start playing good baseball.

You just answered your own question: They simply started to play good baseball. As for the insinuation that Tracy is holding a magic hand, ****ing please. This is baseball. You won't ever find any master gameplans or sophisticated schemes in Tracy's desk.

You're right, there are no master gameplans or schemes in his desk. What he has done is solidify our lineup by standing behind the players and letting them do their own thing in the clubhouse. He loosened them up, and it's obviously worked.

As if there's actual proof that Clint Hurdle wasn't doing those things before he was fired?

Proof? Like watching the games with my own eyes and seeing the lineup stay pretty consistent from game to game? Not yanking guys if they go through a little slump.

Great job taking over after a 1-0 deficit through 8 innings against the Padres. Excuse me if I don't believe that Jim Tracy's boys always seem to want to give up.
