    Rockies Tavarez Deal In Place?

Red Sox sent RHP Julian Tavarez outright to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Tavarez has accepted the assignment, apparently to give the Red Sox a few more days to finalize the trade they've been working on. The Rockies and Brewers have expresed interested in the right-hander.

Red Sox pitcher Julian Tavarez will clear waivers today, making him a free agent. The Rockies are expected to have some interest, though it's likely tempered by the recent signing of Glendon Rusch.
Either Tavarez or Rusch will not get this team out of the funk they are in this season. The defending NL Champs need a bona fide starter. Rockies need pitching but don't think these guys are the answer.

No one thought that it would take Jeff Francis until mid-may to get his first win of the season. They have some serious pitching issues that need to be adressed, and tooling around with Taveraz or Rusch will only waste their time. De la Rosa has been ok...but the only real production from that rotation is coming from Aaron Cook. He's 6-2, 2.82 ERA, with a 1.27 WHIP. Opponents are only batting .252 against him. They need to find someone that can come somewhat close to those numbers, otherwise they will just keep losing.
