Rockies Tulo gone til All Star break

As reported on ESPN, Troy Tulowitzki has a torn tendon in his hip and is expected to be out until at least the All Star break.

This is HUGE!!! The Rockies had better figure something out quick to be competitive early in the year to even have a chance when he comes back.

    Well, somebody's not repeating.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

A rotation of Clint Barmes, Omar Quintanilla, Jon Herrera, and Jeff Baker when he gets healthy would be my assumption.

Clint Barmes before he fell down the steps the other year was doing real well.

This isn't as bad as you guys are making it out to be but it does hurt. Clint Barmes is actually hitting and can play good defense. Defense is what made the Rockies so great last year. They rarely gave anything away. Ian Stewart is likely to be called up now so the offense will likely get better. Pitching is the Rockies more pressing need.

    Correct.

Tulo was struggling in April anyway. It's a hit to them because everybody loves the guy. Clint Barmes is doing a lot better than Nix could even think of doing. Ian Stewart will most likely be called up, Jeff Baker is on the DL for now, and it's a chance to give a couple younger guys to get some big league time.

I don't think they will repeat as NL champs, but they will come around when the weather warms up and be a competitive club, just need a little bit of time.

Correct. Hell, Barmes is hitting circles around Tulo this year. Hopefully when he returns he can find his bat.
Still, a big loss because of the leader Troy is.

I think the Rockies will be ok. I don't think they're gonna have any 22 game winning streaks this year, but I think they'll be a decent to good team, they'll be competitive, and when Tulo comes back, he'll have a shot to help them make the playoffs again. This is of course assuming that the other teams in the division don't go on a tear...

I think Arizona is already building an insurmountable lead...and the Rockies just keep losing.
