Rockies start off with a win

Colorado 2, St. Louis 1. The Rockies score 2 in the 8th after KYLE LOHSE throws 5 scoreless innings in his glorious Cardinal debut. For some reason Kip Wells is the Rockies #2 starter (??) and he only gave up 1 run in 5.1 IP. Nice job by the bullpen giving up just 2 hits from there on out. Holliday/Atkins/Hawpe went a combined 0 for 11 but Tulowitzki went 3 for 4. Jayson Nix "drove in" the winning run with a bases loaded walk. Good start for the defending NL champs.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

They're so lucky that yesterday's game got wiped out from the books.

I wasn't lucky. It killed my fantasy league since I had Ankiel and Pujols.

Rockies should be 1-2 if not for the rain delay in the 1st game.

Not time to panic just yet, but the Rockies are sputtering out of the gate in 2008.

Not too worry yet, too much talent. they will rebound and be a force to be dealt with in the NL this season.

...and then lose the next three. Tough start so far.

I memory serves me right, they got off to a rather slow start last year. They have way too much talent not to be in the hunt by season's end.

Yeah, they were like 15-28 or something early on. Still, they need to get it going because the NL West is too good to get way behind early.

true, but it was a deep division lst year too! But I understand your thinking there.

    Very true.

It would be nice to not HAVE to win 20 of 21 to get in.

Yay, we found a new and different way to lose the game yesterday. Have a great pitching effort wasted in the top of the 9th, and then get blown out in the end.

Wow, what a bad start. Time to turn it around against ATL.

It's nice to have a team in the basement with you (I'm a Giants fan) but sad it won't last. Rockies offense will get going soon.

Well, the Rocks ALMOST tried to waste another strong pitching performance (this time by A. Cook), but thank goodness Tulo and Holliday bailed them out.
