Fuentes' First Loss Of The Year

Brian Fuentes lose his arbitration case and will make $5.05 million this season.
Fuentes asked for $6.5 million in his last year of arbitration. With Chad Cordero at $6.2 million despite having two years to go before free agency, we'd say Fuentes had the better argument. Still, it can't be easy trying to sell a panel of arbitrators on park effects. Outside of one 10-day span, Fuentes was a truly outstanding reliever last season.
Good news for the Rockies and of course bad news for Brian. Fuentes to Corpas is a great 1-2 punch at the end of games. If Fuentes has another good season, I see him in a Yankee uniform in '09. Still can't believe he is 32. He looks liek a child.

Gee, maybe he can come in and completely kill a rally like he did twice in the World Series.

I guess if we're stuck with him I'm glad he will be cheaper than he wanted but I would've liked to have traded him.
