Padres are pounding the Giants right now so again no help from my team. The Rockies are leading right now 2-0 in the 8th.

If I was in need of a closer I would go after Nathan of the Twins, we wont resign him. Nechek is our closer of the future. I dont know what Colorado would give up but they have pieces that we need.
In all fairness the Rockies have one of the better Closer-setup man combo in the league with Fuentes and Corpas. I don't they'd mess with anything to get Nathan.

Boy, Fuentes sure tried to lose the game Tues. night, didn't he? 3 walks!
    It worked out though.

I don't post over here much (just not enough time in the day to contribute to two forums), but I am so enjoying watching MEANINGFUL games in Sept. I hope the attendance for the DBacks series at Coors is great.

    What a year.

Sorry, Rockies fans, about your next to non-existent playoff chances. But for your enjoyment, here's more of Showboating Jose.

An amazing run and push by this club but it looks like they came up a little to late.

Well wasn't I an idiot because the Rockies can still get in tomorrow with a win and a Padre loss so lets go Rockies!

They'd still have to play another game the day after if that happens.

I'm pretty sure the Rockies won the season series so they would be atop the WC.

No isn't that only for division titles? I don't think they play a one day playoff for the WC.

They play extra games whenever it's a matter of playoffs or no playoffs.

The only time they default to season series record is when both teams are going to be in the playoffs anyways.

ex: Last year the Astros and Cardinals had to play another game to determine who would advance, because only the division winner would go on to the playoffs.

However, the Padres and Dodgers did not have to play another game because both were going to the playoffs either way, so they just declared the Padres NL West champs.

This year, as another example, the Padres can still tie the Diamondbacks for the NL West lead. But the D-Backs hold the season series on the Padres and in the event they end up tied the Sakes are still in the playoffs...so they're already crowned the NL West champs.

Oh alright I got told today by my friend that they only play a one day playoff for only the division. Thanks for straightening it out for me though...But now I feel like an idiot.
