Rockies Helton to have monster year

Todd Helton still believes he can be a 30-homer, 130-RBI man again.
Despite declining offensive totals thanks to back woes and a general reduction in hitting at Coors Field, Helton isn't ready to throw in the towel yet. "I am going to go out and have a monster year next year," he said. The question is, will it be for the Rockies? Helton has been discussed as a trade possibility for Colorado.
I think this is totally possible with the the lineup he will have next year. I can't see them trading him now just after trading away Shealy. Holliday, Atkins and Hawpe around Helton just take a lot more pressure off next season with a healthy Helton. The guy still plays defense and is still one of the best pure hitters in the NL.

Trade Helton? Who else would pay his gigantic contract?

Because of Brian Cashman Just what the Yankees would do. Get more players than positions available.

    Todd Helton for Alex Rodriguez.

It makes perfect sense. Rodriguez goes to Colorado, he moves back to his natural position, and since Rockie fans are non-existant, his numbers will be infinitely good.

Helton then plays first in New York, and Jason moves to third base (70 career games).

    It's a win-win for all!

I just threw up at the thoguth of Giambi playing third. That's like Thome going back. Gross Fisher! What about Helton to the Saux? Rockies need a CFer and you guys are trying to get rid of Crisp. Maybe package him in a deal with a couple others or maybe Manny staright up?
