Rockies Great way to start series against SF!

    Rockies win with ninth-inning rally
Atkins' RBI single completes Colorado's four-run frame
    By Thomas Harding / MLB.com

DENVER -- The Rockies didn't deal with Barry Bonds. They'll have to figure out what to do with Pedro Feliz.

But how they pitched various sluggers mattered far less than how they slugged in the ninth, scoring four runs for a come-from-behind 9-8 victory over the Giants at Coors Field in front of 30,339 on Friday night.

Garrett Atkins' single off Armando Benitez gave the Rockies the victory, and it moved them into a tie atop the National League West with the Giants in the early race.

Eli Marrero, starting at first base because Todd Helton fell ill to a similar bug that had limited Marrero to three appearances in 10 days, led off the ninth with a homer to left field off Tim Worrell (2-1). Luis Gonzalez, who finished a homer shy of the cycle, Danny Ardoin and Choo Freeman also added singles.

Steve Kline struck out Cory Sullivan, but Clint Barmes knocked in his second run of the night on a sacrifice fly against Benitez. It set up a game-tying single by Matt Holliday, who knocked a three-run homer in the third against San Francisco starter Jason Schmidt.

The Rockies walked Bonds three times, twice intentionally, but were forced to come back because Feliz parked a pair of two-run homers, in the fourth and fifth innings, off Colorado starter Jason Jennings. Bonds leads all opposing players with 24 homers at Coors, but Feliz has 12 in 123 at-bats.
Feliz's second homer put the Giants up, 7-4, and Omar Vizquel's RBI single in the eighth gave the Giants an 8-5 lead. But David Cortes (2-0) pitched a scoreless ninth.

    Great come from behind win!
They needed something like this, now maybe they will get it together at home.
Another thought: Barry Bonds is basically a cripple. Dude can hardly run. I don't know why they walked him so many times. Make him run, he'll break down in no time.
