Atlanta buoyed to division title on the strength of their farm system

While the Atlanta Braves officially wrapped up their 14th straight division title this week, thanks in large part to an astounding 17 rookies who jumped to the Majors from their farm system in 2005, the club's affiliates as a whole didn't fare as well this season. Only two of the Braves' six affiliates finished with winning records, with Danville doing some real damage in the Appalachian League by finishing 27 games over .500.

Wow they had 17 rookies this year, and won the division , man my D-Backs had that many last year, and finished dead last.

Braves had 18 rookies, not 17.

Some of the Braves rooks project as 4th OF or Utility players, but many of them project to be future all-stars and everyday starters. This will be very valuable experience for them. I think even if the Braves do not make much noise in the playoffs, the future is still bright.
