Thumbs Up Chris Carter finally to get a look in the big leagues

Starting.. yesterday. He struck out twice, and apparently that's his M.O. along with tons of power. Mark Reynolds, you may just have a worthy challenger in 2011 for the strikeout title (Pedro Alvarez could make it a triple threat match). Seeing as how Oakland doesn't have much power, why not give him a go?

Still looking for his first hit. Oh well. It's going to take him time to adjust just like in AAA.

They sent him down because Conor Jackson came off the DL and he was going to lose playing time. He'll be back up in September.

I'm sure if Carter was having any type if success, Jackson wouldn't be taking much playing time away.

Jackson needs to show something the rest of the way or he risks being non-tendered I believe. Carter is under control and he'll be fine. They called up Buck and sent down Larish, too. Buck also needs to show something or he's probably gone.

I must say since I haven't talked to you in so long, Prov, that I am impressed on how well the A's have done this year.

I can't see Conor Jackson lasting. Even with Carter's struggles, whatever Jackson once had, he lost it. It looked like one point he would be a 55-60 XBH, high OBP, good BA, bat that might not be typical first base kind of numbers, but a solid force in the lineup with some surprise speed. But he has lost his power.

After starting his MLB career 0 for 33 with a couple walks, he's got 4 hits in his last 6 ABs. He hit his first homer today of Edwin Jackson.

Hey, A.J. Ellis was hitting .211 before he rolled off 9 hits in his last 11 ABs! ZOMG, he's a stud too!

You're right. He's a bum. Someone should just delete this thread. Forgiveness please for wasting your time with such propaganda.

I didn't say he was a scrub. But it does appear to me you were drawing the conclusion from a sample of 6 at-bats that he is finally back on track.
