Attention! Brett Wallace, is he that bad on defense?

I just posted in the Oswalt thread, the Astros traded with Toronto to acquire Brett Wallace for Anthony Gose. Wallace has now been dealt from STL to Oakland for Holliday, and then from Oakland to Toronto for Michael Taylor (a Philly prospect), and now... to Houston.. for another Philly prospect.

    Eh?

From what I've read, he is a work in progress in the field, but a beast with a bat.

Well, Brett Wallace figures to be a glorified Lyle Overbay. That may be better than Gose, and closer to meeting his potential, but what the hell is going on in the Jays' organization that they turn Michael Taylor into Wallace into Gose in a year?

I'm sure Houston fans would be thrilled over a Lyle Overbay comparison...

AA tried to get Goose out of the Halladay trade, so now he made the deal to get him.
And being a better version of Lyle Overbay doesn't mean a whole lot. Though Overbay has improved in the field ever since those EE throws from 3rd started coming in.

It sounds to me like Houston got a white, less hefty Daryle Ward, who was also hyped as a sure thing with the bat.

Wallace is the answer to a decent trivia question. He has been traded for Matt Holliday, Roy Halladay, and Roy Oswalt.

He may have been involved in the completion of those deals, but he was actually dealt for prospects the Phillies traded to get those guys.
