it depends on what league and what level. For example, the AA Texas League that the Midland Rockhounds (A's) play in does that, but I'm not sure if A does that and they have 3 levels of A, too. AAA is not like that. And if it is split up between first and second half champs, it won't make a difference if the same team wins both...they end up getting a bye for the playoffs if the other division(s) have 2 separate winners. Does that make sense?

I know the midwest league does that (low A). There is a question, what if the same team wins both halves, how will they decide who they to play for the championship, or they are the champions.

I tried to explain that in my post...

    1. for example if Midland wins the 2nd half (they won the first half), then they get a bye for the first round (West division champion).

    2. They would then play whoever won the East division...

    a. if 1 team won both East division championships (1st and 2nd half), then the Rockhounds would play that team for the Texas league championship.
    b. If 2 different teams won each half, those teams play each other and the winner plays the Rockhounds for the Texas league championship.

    3. If another team win the 2nd half west division, then the Rockhounds play them in the first round, winner advances to the Texas league championship.

It's similar in the other leagues, does that make sense?
