Player Hafner almost ready to return to action

It looks like Hafner will be back on Friday to try and help the Indians struggling offense. He had a cortisone shot in his right shoulder to try and help with the inflammation there. It's the 2nd shot he's had this season. He said he had an MRI and that there is no structural damage. I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up on the DL at some point. This always seems to happen...they try to rest/rehab to avoid the DL/surgery and then eventually that happens anyway.

His numbers are way down this year. They were down last year, but he still knocked in 100 runs with 24 homers along with 100 walks. He's really going to have to turn it on soon if he's to help the Indians out of this funk that they're in. Hopefully, it will be a boost for them just to have him back in the lineup.

He hasn't been any help, so he hasn't really been missed.

I still say it's his eyes. He needs contacts or lasik surgery, it looks like he can't see the ball.

He was actually just placed on the 15-day DL with a strained shoulder. I don't think surgery is in the picture (yet?), but the rest should give him time to rehab his shoulder and find his swing.

I believe they tried the rest thing already though. At what point do you finally decide to do some sort of exploratory surgery? Clearly, the shots and rest haven't helped him.
