He's 7 - 1 now with an ERA of 1.50. Obviously, he won't keep up that pace for the entire season. And I think too much emphasis is being placed on the fact that he's the "#5" pitcher. Clearly, they put him there because he didn't exactly light the world on fire last year with his 5 - 8 record and ERA over 6. He's already won more games this year than he did all of last year! He's better than he was last year and maybe they put him there to take some pressure off him.

Cliff Lee is now 15-2 with a 2.58 ERA after defeating the first place Rays. Any doubt this guy wins the CY Award?

Lee won his 18th today for a record of 18-2 with a 2.43 ERA! Amazing that he was in in the minors last May. Who wins Comeback Player of the Year? Mussina or Lee?

As you said, he Lee was sent down to the minors to work out his problems last season. This year, he's been "lights out". I think he wins the Cy Young and Comeback Player of the Year easily.
And to think he was a "throw-in" player in the Bartolo Colon deal to the Expos a few years back.

    Re: Cliff Lee

Cliff Lee's streak of 8 consecutive winning decisions got snapped yesterday. But he did get a no-decision and the Tribe did win the game.
