Indians Pick Up Branyan

Indians signed IF/OF Russell Branyan to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo.
After being let go by the Padres last month, Branyan returns to the organization that drafted and developed him. When Branyan played at Buffalo back when he was a prospect in the 1990s, he managed 51 homers in 173 games. A similar power display this time could get him a roster spot for the stretch drive and potential playoff run.

Don't really see him doing much unless someone gets hurt or to spell someone.

Ok, reefer, here yu go, I didn't even know that the Padres had released Branyan! I guess I had better get caught up on my baseball knowledge outside the Brewers world! haha!!


Umm. what do the Indians need him for, unless they were just getting him so no on else could in the AL? Who knows. Good power PHer, I suppose?

Branyon can't hurt the tribes struggling outfield with the exception of sizemore. nobody else has produced at all. (Nixon, Gut., and Micheals) They traded for Lofton which i think was great for the fact that he offers leadership in the clubhouse.

The Indians sent him to the Cardinals today. He has been on what 4 teams now this year. YIKES!
